The First Three Months - Things We Learned

When you stop worrying about work, suddenly you sleep a lot better. I mean like almost immediately. This shocked me. I really didn’t think that was the main reason my sleep had been deteriorating so much. I even scoffed at Craig when he predicted this one.
When you are less tired/not pressed for time, things irritate you a lot less. I know this one seems obvious, but I am naturally an impatient person, so I thought things like a major fail at the grocery checkout would still bother me, but not nearly as much (they had to do a hard reboot of the checkout system and had the nerve to blame my credit card, I just waited patiently).
(Things that irritate me a lot less includes Craig, but shhhh, don’t tell him)
As of 2 months and 3 weeks, I am starting to remember stuff again! I just thought I was slowly losing my mind from age. Nope, I think maybe it all goes back to sleep. I suddenly started remembering actors’ names, places, etc. and not going, “you know, that guy in that movie I like….”
OK - some non-sleep related ones:
West Coast time is FAR SUPERIOR to East Coast time when it comes to enjoying sports. I mean, Sunday football doesn’t even start until after brunch/Bloody Mary time on the east coast - what the heck?
We’re not bored! One might argue that we’ve been traveling a lot, but we enjoyed lazing around Killington, Vermont as much as our frenetic time in New York City (though in MUCH different ways).
We really don’t miss our stuff. Except for some kitchen stuff - our espresso maker, Craig’s properly sharpened knives, a wide variety of spices, my hot sauces (don’t let anyone tell you there isn’t a correct hot sauce for different kinds of food).
Rental cars suck. I guess that means we miss our cars, but really, just a car that drives decently. It doesn’t even have to go fast.
And the best, potentially most obnoxious, thing we’ve learned…
Monday is now THE BEST day of the week! (Schadenfreude is real 😜)
